Animated Tile was established by tile enthusiasts who had a particular interest in beautifying swimming pools with unique three dimensional mosaic tile art designed primarily for the bottom of swimming pools. Our customers used their pool bottoms as a palate for their imagination!

Over several years of manufacturing custom three dimensional mosaic tiles for swimming pool owners, contractors, architects, and designers, we received countless requests for unique waterline tile. Therefore in 2003, we as a group of tile fanatics researched all facets of the tile market and it's adjacent industries looking for new exciting waterline tile to offer to our mosaic art customers.

Unfortunately, we experienced the same frustrations as the swimming pool builders and buyers and this is what we found:

1. All the waterline tile looks the same
2. No matter how pretty or expensive the pattern around the waterline, the repetitive and unchanging nature of the waterline tile negates the tile to a forgotten afterthought.

• Use good old American ingenuity to design beautiful accent tiles that would compliment a tile choice but break up the monotony and boredom of the standard waterline tile patterns.
• A second and more difficult part of our goal was to create the accent tile that would have some character and not look the same all the time. Tile that was... Animated!
